How Medical tourism is concluded in India?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

India is a good location to receive medical treatments and considered a leader in promoting medical tourism.

Since the government is actively participating in the expansion of this industry, there is much investment in the facilities and resources needed for medical tourists. Including the production of an estimated 20, 000 - 30,000 doctors and nurses each year.

At an approximate growth of 30% each year, studies conducted by government and private sectors in India estimate that medical tourism could bring between $1 billion and $2 billion US into India by 2012.

With all this investment, as well as the growing nature of this competitive market, patients from western countries are usually offered high quality service packages at a fraction of the treatment cost in the home country. These packages often include:

  • flight
  • transfers
  • hotels
  • treatment
  • post-operative vacation

How did the Rowlatt Act affected India?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The Amritsar Massacre developed out of protests against the Rowlatt Act (a series of laws which allowed the British to imprison Indians without trial, and allowed the British to suppress certain news stories from being reported in newspapers.)

The Amritsar Massacre lasted for about ten minutes, in which time 1650 rounds of ammunition were fired upon a gathering of unarmed men, women and children who were peacefully protesting the Rowlatt Act.

Over 1000 people were killed, and 2000 wounded. Winston Churchill said of the event that "The Indians were packed together so that one bullet would drive through three or four bodies".

To answer your question, such brutality and suppression turned millions of moderate Indians from supporters of the British Raj into nationalists who would never again trust the British.

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The law allows you to roam freely. It is a democratic nation and this comes under personal freedoms.

If you are in any major city in a decent hotel there will be no questions asked. Frankly nobody has the time to care. You only need to produce ID.

But beware of the shadier places in smaller towns. Its not the law but the trouble makers that can cause trouble.
